77th United Nations
The 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (#UNGA77), the main policy-making body of the UN, comprising all Member States, will take place this week. The assembly is a forum for multilateral discussion on the international agenda covered by the Charter of the United Nations.
Women in Global Health (WGH) will be following key events during UNGA77 to inform our policy and advocacy engagement and track progress on upcoming measures related to gender equity in health. In this newsletter, you'll find information on key events and ways to engage in helping to support our mission. Participation is based on virtual attendance.
Join us at #UNGA77 to help us drive the agenda on gender equality in global health, as we advocate for five key asks on behalf of women worldwide!
The theme for this year's UNGA is “A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges”. The Assembly will open on Tuesday, September 13 and the first day of the high-level General Debate will take place on Tuesday, September 20.
