Description: Omega-3 fatty acids are foundational nutrients that play key roles in cellular function, inflammation modulation, and overall physiological health. Research highlights their potential benefits for women’s health, including reproductive function, aspects of pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and well-being throughout the menstrual cycle and menopause. This session will review the mechanisms and evidence-based applications of omega-3 fatty acids across all stages of the female lifespan.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the foundational role and physiological functions of omega-3 fatty acids.
2. Evaluate the literature supporting omega-3 fatty acid use across various stages of the female lifespan.
3. Apply practical strategies for incorporating omega-3 fatty acids into clinical practice.
Bailey Miller, ND is a licensed naturopathic doctor and Nordic Natural’s Clinical Education Specialist. She earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in San Diego, California. Dr. Bailey specializes in integrative health, with a focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness through natural and evidence-based therapies. Across all aspects of her work, she is passionate about bridging science and nature to promote sustainable, preventive, and patient-centered wellness.

Jacquetta Woods Melvin MPH, PA-C has over 13 years of experience on clinical interdisciplinary teams providing obstetrical and gynecological care. Her expertise includes surgical, ambulatory, and inpatient OB/GYN care. She completed her PA education at Howard University in 2008, and then completed her MPH at UNC Chapel Hill with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health in 2011. Ashley Green is the lead Outreach Coordinator and a senior research analyst for the All of Us Data and Research Center. She is also a member of the Demonstration Projects team where she works closely with researchers as they work toward publishing their research.
