Today, the Supreme Court reversed the long standing Roe vs Wade decision. This now allows Mississippi to enforce a 15-week ban on abortion, and it regrettably allows the opportunity for other state legislatures to further restrict and potentially ban abortion. While expected, we are nonetheless shocked and highly concerned for our patients, their families, and our fellow health care colleagues. There are many uncertainties at this time, but what remains is our effort as OB/GYN PAs to uphold our commitment to increasing access to quality, equitable and affordable healthcare for all. As providers of obstetrical and gynecological care, we will continue to support birthing people through their happiest times and also in these most challenging times.
